Dec 17

Today was a Cobie lovin' kind of day.

This dog LOVES that boy. She loves us all, but wow does she love Rileybear. She is always with him, which aggravates him a lot, but he loves her too!

My goal was to get pictures of just the boys, but someone wouldn't stay away. Notice the guilty look on her face.

Riley wouldn't sit still so it was a challenge trying to get anything half way decent.

Travis wanted a picture like this. Riley hopped right into it.

Did I already mention it was a challenge tonight?

How about another last year/this year comparison?

One more!

Dec 5

Well...it was bound to happen. Most runners experience an injury at some point or another. Mine just happened to happen less than a week from my 10 year olds next 5K (which I was supposed to run in with him).

I fractured my heel and am stuck in this boot for at least 3 weeks. Boo that. Travis told me he wanted to cry when he heard I couldn't run with him ( I did cry).

Even Cobie looks sad about it all.

Our crazy dogs!

Cobie is now 5 months old!

This picture is what I call "humble ears". I had just told her to "sit-stay", and she did. But she desperately wanted to go back into the yard to play with the boys. Her ears give away her guilty thoughts!

Dec 27: She makes me happy!

I know I have said it before, but this pretty girl, makes me so happy! I mean, how can you not smile at this:

Ahhh, a Golden Retriever and her stick...the only thing better, is a Golden Retriever and her tennis ball

I can only get a decent picture of Misty, if she is held back by a leash. Otherwise, she just pounces on me as soon as I squat down to take the picture. She's a pretty girl too.

We are working with Cobie on her "Stay" command. Usually...I get so tickled when I tell her to "stay", that she gets excited over my laughing. Why? Because this is the look she gives me, everytime!

She looks so suspicious!

Dec 25: Merry Christmas!

Christmas morning began with Travis waking me up at 7am..."Mommy! Can we go see if Santa came now?!". He said he woke up at 3am, saw that it was 3am on the clock, and went back to sleep. I thanked him for that! Riley needed a little more prodding to get moving. He would rather have slept a little longer, but we finally got him up, and off we went.

Travis found that Santa had left him an Ipod touch, amongst other things. That went over VERY well!

Riley, who was not so sure about what all this Santa stuff was about, was thrilled to see what was left for him also!

Our mischievous little elf Pistachio, left us a note!

Riley loved opening his gifts, and didn't rush through it. He took his time with each one.

Travis got a very special gift from Mema and Granddaddy...

Riley loves this little ride on! It has made many trips down our hallway already!

Santa brought Riley a Gator!

Me and my sweet girl, who was technically, an early Christmas gift.

Dec 17: Tooo much sweet in one place!

Last night, Travis and I went out shopping for quite a while. He surprises me everyday with his kind and giving nature. Today/tonight he is at a birthday party sleepover. He has a much busier social life than I do! :)

Tonight, we caught this moment:

Cobie and Riley, curled up in Cobie's bed. Granted only for a few minutes, but they BOTH were loving it! Cobie graduated from her "Puppy Preschool" class today. She did SO good on her "final exam". She passed it without any problems. I have been working with Misty some, while working with Cobie as well, and she is making (slow) progress. She too, went to Puppy Preschool, but well, she isn't as motivated to be obedient. Cobie however, she wants to please ALL the time. And THAT is what makes Golden Retrievers the best dogs! I have a feeling that sneaky elf Pistachio is reporting good things about them back to Santa as well, and their stocking will likely have lots of neat goodies in it. Hopefully, nothing with stuffing though, because Misty rips the stuffing out of toys right away, which means I get to clean up stuffing.

Anyway...back to tonight...Cobie curled up with Riley until we made her leave and come back to adult supervision land with us. And what did Riley do? He grabbed right on to her collar to keep her with him!

Dec 14: Puppy loving

We are still enjoying Cobie so much. She is such a sweet girl. She is growing so fast! She is already bigger than Misty. Thankfully, she is a fast learner and is learning the rules of our house.

Keeping Riley company while playing with his trucks

Helping me do some physical therapy stretching

Are dogs legs supposed to bend this way??

Dec 7: where is he going?

I love this! Cobie sits and watches as one of her boys disappears on the bus.

Dec 3: Puppy Lovin'

My Cobie girl, sporting her new Christmas collar. It has bells on it and jingles when she moves.

And Pistachio's antics last night:

We took the hint, and decorated the tree today!
