Post Op: Day 5 - HOME!

So umm, yeah. Riley was discharged today.

Are you in shock? Because we are!

7-10 days is what we were told to expect. So Tuesday, at the very very very very VERY earliest is when we were thinking the "H" word would begin to be mentioned. But they sent him home today. He's been pooping like a champ for 3 days. No fevers and belly looks ok and no vomiting other than that one day, and that was found to be due to an improperly positioned replogle tube. So basically, even though they waited a day longer than they normally would have to begin letting him have clear liquids...they said he was ready to go home. So home we went.

Today he ate quite a bit of solid foods, but is hesitant with his liquids, when they come from a cup. He is accepting of it now, but not nearly as eager as prior to surgery. But that happened last time as well, and after a bit, he picked back up on it.

We were hopeful that there would still be a yard full of snow when we got home, but there was only a little bit in some shady areas. Riley wasn't really in the mood for checking it out much either. But we did get a quick couple pictures when we first got home:

A little later, he seemed like he wanted to go outside, but his energy level and physical abilities aren't nearly back to normal yet. He took a few steps, then sat in his little cozy couple for a bit and watched Travis play.

We are so happy to see Riley home and that you got to see a little bit of snow. I showed Carter the pics of Riley and Travis and he waved at them. :)
