Catching Up!

Hmmm when did I last blog?

I decided to do a little video of pictures from the past week or so...It saved space! We went to Topsail Island last week on vacation with and thanks to my mom and dad. I took a TON of pictures. Not to mention pictures shared from friends, and well, it just made for picture overload. So a little video it is. It was a good week though. We could walk right out the back door and go for a boat ride or fish off the dock or swim. and we could walk about a block and half away to get to the ocean. Can"t beat that!Travis worked on his skim boarding skills and has become quite good at it. Riley likes to eat sand, which doesn't thrill me, but it's cute to watch his expressions! And there is just no stopping him either. Jay's parents came down for a day to play and visit and the Pope's came and stayed and Sandra did too. For the most part, the weather cooperated, although it was rainy one day, but we werent' complaining! So it was lots of sunshine, laughs and giggles, sand, water, tubing, friends, food and fun. There is just nothing like having fun with the one's you love. So make sure you click on the video below to see pictures of our fun.

Speaking of one's you love...our precious Golden Retriever Ginger, that has been our girl for the past 9 years, since she was 6 weeks old, passed away July 4. She had a stroke 2 summer's ago and has never been quite the same since. We feel for certain that neighborhood fireworks likely caused her to have a heartattack. We were at Pauline's house, enjoying the view of fireworks from both Wrightsville Beach and Carolina Beach not to mention fireworks the neighbors were putting on. We arrived home around 11pm, and noticed that Ginger did not walk out to greet us when we got there. That immediatly concerned me. My poor old girl had found a safe spot to hide in, and just looked like she was sleeping with her head resting on her paws. I feel really guilty for not being there with her during it all. I KNOW she is scared of fireworks and thunder. But it's too late now. We buried her in the back yard, under a small little oak tree we planted with 2 of her beloved tennis balls. She is facing the house so she can keep an eye on us always. She was my girl, and life will never be the same without her.

My beautiful Ginger....March 15, 2000 - July 4, 2009
Rest in Peace sweet girl. I love you always.

Lindsey, first I must tell you how sorry I am about you losing Ginger. What an absolutely beautiful dog she was. She certainly didn't look that old...must have been because she was loved so much.
The video was so sweet, and the children sure looked like they had a blast. Travis sure is great with the skim board. He sure has great balance, and a terrific teacher also!
Baby Riley can smile his way through anything, even if it is eating sand (yuck). He is getting so nice and "chunky", bless his heart. Everyone looked so happy, and so relaxed. Glad you had a chance to get away, and just chill, and enjoy life.
Thanks for sharing your trip, in pictures.

Love and Hugs,
Dale
