Travis' birthday at the beach

This year, Travis asked for a different kind of birthday party. He asked for a small gathering at Mama's house (Pauline), to play in the water (she lives on the Intracoastal waterway). So we got there early, loaded up the boat with our family, minus Riley, Sandra, Gary and the Pope family, minus Madelyn. Riley and Madelyn stayed behind at Pauline's house where she and my mom and Debbie happily tended to babies for a few hours. The rest of us were off to Masonboro Island for a while. It's basically like being at a private beach, and it's miles and miles of white sand. We played in the water and Sandra and the kids built a sand sea turtle.

After playing over there for a while, we went back to the house and swam and ate and opened gifts and played in the water some more. By the end of the day, we were all exhausted and sun burned, but we had a great day!

The birthday boy!

The basketball to go with his new big boy basketball goal!

No pictures of blowing out the candles because as you'll see...the wind wasn't cooperating.

I can't believe he's 7!!!

Happy 7th Birthday, Travis! What a fun way to celebrate your birthday. Jason is really missing you so we will have to plan a trip down there soon.

Is Riley storing nuts for the winter? Those are some very chubby cheeks he's sporting!

What a great birthday party! Looks like Travis racked up on the presents, too :)

We've heard about Masonboro, but have never been. We'll have to invite ourselves down one weekend with our boat and you can show us how to get there.

Travis, What a fun day we had celebrating with you on your birthday. I still can't hardly believe that you are 7! More hugs to you until I see you again. Love you, Mama

Wow! It sure looks like everyone had a great time at Travis' party. He sure got some super gifts, and I bet he will enjoy his new basketball, and goal set. Boy, time sure flies. It is hard to believe he is 7 already, and will be in second grade. Riley looks like he is starting to get some sweet chubby legs on him, (good for squeezing! Glad to see you all had such a wonderful day, and beautiful weather, also.
The birthday cake was really unique too! Thanks for sharing the great photos!

Love and Hugs,
Dale
