Riley has a temper!

So we found out yesterday that Riley has a temper. He has taken to throwing fits of varying degrees when the nurses bother him. I kind of like it cause it is evidence of him fighting.
He did well yesterday and last night. The have turned off his little heater on his bed and he's maintaining his temperture well. They reduced his vent settings to the bare minimum and he's done well. His little abdominal drain has slowed significantly. His platelets are up and xrays are looking good (well, good as in no other issues). He seems much more comfortable today and is only on his regular morphine drip. They were giving him extra every 4 hours before each assessment. It will still be a while before we know how his stoma is functioning as he has no food going through his stomach and all gastric juices are being sucked out of belly with tube right now. We haven't asked if any of the improvements give any indication towards the health of his bowel out of fear. We just don't want to know that right now. :o(
So that is the latest. Oh he did get his little head bathed earlier and he's still a peanut. Extra fluids and all, he's still below 7 pounds.
Off to run some errands before Mom,dad,Travis and Jay leave later.
