Riley is doing great off the vent and on his own. He desats a little when they bother him and he gets mad, but you and I would have the same response. His face isn't red from the tape removal anymore either. I got to hold him earlier before shift change. I wasn't expecting to be able to hold for a while so needless to say I jumped at the chance. His little temper is showing more and more and once his throat heals from having the vent and he gets his voice back, the whole ICN is going to knpw Riley is here. I can't wait. An oddball thing that happened earlier that I didn't mention because I didn't know the results of at the time...the took femur xrays because his abdominal one this morning showed something odd about one of his femurs and they were concwrned about possible fracture. That got a "huh" response out of me! But they came back fine. No fractures. The fun never ends around here!
