How about some pictures?

Riley is all settled into his room on the 7th floor now. This is a regular pediatric room. His only constant "connection" is his central IV line. They intermittently put the blood pressure cuff and other stuff on him to get vital signs and then they come right back off. This room is about the same size as the other, but it's laid out better. Jay will even be able to stay in here. They said they can get him an egg crate and basically he will make a pallet on the floor. So he has gone to check out of the Ronald McDonald House, so that another family who may need his room can have it.

This room, has a better view than the other. It's not prettier. But its more interesting. His old room looked out in a courtyard that we never saw anyone in. The courtyard was surrounded by high buildings. This room, we can see the tops of some of the campus buildings, look down at the ER entrance, and watch some construction work. Jay particularly liked that!

Riley continues to be very very mellow. He lies around and just takes in his surroundings, only getting upset occasionally. He protests any medical staff that comes in, and has even thrown his paci at a few of them. Kind of funny and pitiful all at the same time. Here are a few pictures I've snapped of him yesterday and today:

Pitiful bruising on his head

Lindsey, Thanks for sharing all about Riley and the pictures. Throwing his paci at medical staff kind of makes me think of you when a little girl! Love it! Pauline

Lindsey, Thanks for all the beautiful photos of Riley. He really looks wonderful. Great color. Glad to hear his Riley spirit is still visible (the look!). Guess it is a sign he is still calling the shots. To cute! How did he get that bruise? Looks nasty, poor baby. Nice that Jay will be able to stay with you also.
Thanks for all the updates, keep the good news coming!

Hugs for Riley!
Dale
