What do you get when you take 4 adults + 5 children and 2 loaded down minivans on a trip??

LOADS of fun!

Thanks to our friends Jay and Christie (plus Miller,Bailey and Madelyn) we took a little trip down to Myrtle Beach for a few days . We went to a resort (Dunes Village) that has an indoor water park and it was SO much fun! We took the Wii along and if we weren't in the water, we were burning up the Wii! Thanks to Jay (Souza...yes, it get's confusing), we all got a nice little song stuck in our heads and it began to rub off on our kids. ALL 5 kids were SO good on the trip! Considering the long hours, lots of activity and disrupted schedules, we were very impressed with how well all of them held it together. Our last day down there, we shopped till we dropped (ok, maybe it was really more browsing, but there was a little actual shopping), then capped off the trip with a yummy dinner at Red Lobster. Here are a few photos from our trip!

Let's go swimming! Left to right....Bailey, Riley, Travis, Madelyn and Miller (Madelyn is 2 months older than Riley)

The big slides

Kiddie area

The smaller slides...these were burnt up by us all many many times. Well...not the babies

View from the room

He's ready to get wet!

And...time for a nap

Lazily floating down the lazy river

Big girl Bailey proving she doesn't need her floatie

We had to push their beds together to make one really big bed

Madelyn and Riley played well together :o)

The kids enjoyed a little fireworks display the first night there

And because I know some will be wondering...YES, Riley is able to go swimming. Or floating or whatever you want to call what a 6 month old is capable of. His ostomy doesn't prevent that at all. His bag held out great and he kept the same one on for both days (many many hours of being submerged) without it leaking or worse, coming off. It was a test run for summer for sure, and we were well pleased with how his gear held on. His swimsuit is a little one piece surfer suit and it keeps all the questionable stuff covered, and if you didn't know him, you'd never know there was something strange going on under that suit. :o) He DOES have swim trunks (see the "is it summer yet" post), but we stuck with the one piece for this trip. For a baby that screams through his baths, he LOVED the pools...of course they were heated to bath-water warm (sometimes warmer).

2 posts in 2 days! haven't done that in a while!

Wow! What a terrific place that looks like for the kids, (young and old!!) Glad to see you could get away and relax for a few days. The children seemed to really be enjoying themselves, including baby Riley! He looked so sweet in his "suit" just floating along, and "chillin" Sounds as if everyone had a good time, and all the kids were in sinc with each other. More happy memories!!
