Happy Easter!

Our first family holiday, since Riley was born, that he was able to be a part of (at home)!

The day started early...

Riley didn't offer up many smiles for outside pictures this morning. Maybe it was because it was early, and he's like his mommy, and not a morning person. Or maybe it was the harsh sunlight (because it was early), or maybe it was because THIS happened a time or three.... (disclaimer: no babies were harmed in the making of these pictures)

My girl Ginger got in on the action...the forever present tennis ball included

Plenty of growing room in the new swing!

Today, was not only Easter, but the day known as "Riley gets to eat FOOD". The doctor/nutritionist said Green Beans or Carrots. We let Riley's fate lie in Travis' hands and he chose carrots! Just an interesting tidbit: Travis ate his first food (cereal not included) on a holiday also...Thanksgiving! He had Green Beans. For that reason, I was leaning towards Green Beans for Riley, but we try to let Travis be involved whenever we can. Green Beans or Carrots was the perfect chance for him to be. So Carrots it was...

Mmmm Mommy has the bowl....

Huh?

Maybe another little taste

What happened to my cereal?!?! (this was followed by a full body shiver that was hilarious)

Cereal? Please? Anybody?

He ended up eating about half the jar...so it really wasn't a bad first time I don't think. He definitely seemed confused about it all though. And later on, when he ate his cereal, he approached it cautiously. So far, he seems to be tolerating the formula change ok.

...I can't believe he's already old enough to sit up a little bit

Peeking over the swing

Travis found a new hat and wore it ALL.DAY.LONG!

I can't believe how tall Travis looks! It has been so long since we have seen him--we all can't wait to see you guys this weekend. Jason was so excited today talking about how much he loves Travis! I love the carrot pictures--so funny. Happy Easter!

Love the "Happy Easter" pictures and seeing Travis and Riley hunting for eggs! Riley's "tumbling" picture gave me a big smile! So funny and so cute too yet! Hoping Riley will continue to tolerate his new formula and now the carrots too. Hugs, Pauline

We are so glad that you all could spend Easter together at home. Looks like the boys had fun with their egg hunt, Riley just was overly excited, that he had to tumble over. :) I was laughing at the carrot pictures, I bet Riley was cautious when the cereal came back. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Take care, Debbie and Gary

All of the Easter pictures are sweet, and Riley's outfit was adorable also! I laughed at the carrot tasting pictures, as they reminded me of feeding my Brian applesauce for the first time. He shivered and shook all over, and made the same face as Riley did,
(that was 31 yrs. ago). Guess kids don't change to much when trying new things! I actually had to hide the applesauce in Brian's cereal, as he never did like it alone. It's funny how memories flash back when reading about baby's "first things".
I'm glad you all had a nice Easter, and such lovely weather. It was really cool and windy here.
Love and Hugs, Dale
