Dr Appointment day

Today was a regular monthly Dr appointment for me and baby. So far, not much weight gain, yay! and what has been gained so far seems to be all in the belly, double yay! With Travis it all started in the butt and thighs and progressed from there.

Dr found heartbeat right away with the Doppler ( I admit to being a little disappointed, was hoping for another peek and to ask if boy/girl if so, but knew it was a long shot). Heartbeat measured 157 beats per minute. It's been above 150 entire time. Travis was always in the 140's. Hmmm could that old wives tale be true?

Blood pressure was a little worrisome and I am having a lot of headaches, but he wasn't overly concerned about either one either. He wants me to monitor my blood pressure at home just for good measure, so after work I'm off to buy a blood pressure monitor. And he gave me a prescription for some good stuff for the headaches. Hooray!

Otherwise a normal appointment. But the best news was in 3 weeks, we get the "big" ultrasound and get to find out if it's a boy or a girl!!! Now THAT is something i"m excited about. And impatient. And is it May 20 yet? Those that know me, know that patience is indeed a virtue, but not one I was blessed with. My appointment is at 8:30 in the morning. So Travis will either be skipping school that day or will go in late. Either way, he's there too. I think we'll video the whole scene also , so if it's a girl, years from now, we can embarass him with the video of the meltdown he had about that! haha

Speaking of Travis, He is at Jay's work with him (Jay's been gone FOREVER with work, got back today and picked Travis up from school). He is on Jay's computer and sending me instant messages. Not too long ago, he would send me messages that looked something like this: slfjosfu weurwo lmsofj fjoejo

But todays conversation went like this:
Him: Hi Mommy I Love you
Me: I love you Travis!
Him: I am at daddy work
Me: did you have a good day?
Him: yes
Me: Good!
Me: Are you helping daddy?
Him: yes
Me: good boy!
Him: i am gunu draw a picture
Me: Ok. Have fun
Him: i `am gunu have funun
Me: ok

Each of his responses too about 5 minutes to complete. Again, I'm not patient. I could hardly wait to see what he sent next. But HELLO! My kid can READ and WRITE and TYPE!!! yeeesh, where did my fat little chubby baby boy go?

OH and for show and tell today....he told me this morning "i wish i could take you with me mommy and show the baby for show and tell". So i thought about it and asked if he would like to take an ultrasound picture. he did! I can't wait to hear how that went. He was VERY excited though. (and how about some kudo's for me for being that creative at 6:30 in the morning?)
