They hunkered down in the tent somewhere in the woods of Holly Shelter gamelands and waited (with lots of chatter from Travis I'm told). Shockingly, no deer were seen from this vantage point and they went back to the truck for lunch where I'm told Travis ate nearly everything in site (and mema packed them up well).
Those chairs don't look camoflauged to me. Maybe that was the problem!
They called it a day about 3pm and Travis says he can't wait to go back. Upon arriving back at mema's house, she promptly threw him in the bathtub cause he was filthy. At bedtime, he barely made it through the book before going to sleep. Seems hunting is fun, dirty and hard work!
He DID get to see a deer while riding around in the truck.

Travis, You know what...I think Mama should have gone hunting when she was a little girl...it looks like you had so much fun! I'm so glad that you and Granddaddy had so much fun on your lst day of hunting. Love you, Mama
Travis, So glad you had a good time hunting. Sorry you didn't get a deer but you will the season is just beginning.
