Travis started Kindergarten today. Yes....there were tears. Not from Travis though! All summer long, he has been so excited to start school. Last night, as I was tucking him in bed, he said "mom, i don't want to go to kindergarten afterall. I don't like my teachers".
Sooo.....I began to get nervous that he would cry and cling today. This morning, I woke him up at 6:40. He said "i'm too tired to start kindergarten today. I just want to sleep". Poor baby. But once I mentioned the word 'pancakes', he was right out of bed.
He ate his pancakes, brushed his teeth and got dressed. We put Parker in his crate and off we went!Sooo.....I began to get nervous that he would cry and cling today. This morning, I woke him up at 6:40. He said "i'm too tired to start kindergarten today. I just want to sleep". Poor baby. But once I mentioned the word 'pancakes', he was right out of bed.
We had to park on the side of the road by his school and walk up. Traffic was a nightmare! While walking along in the grassy weeds, Travis said "this isn't fun at ALL". I laughed like crazy and told him it wasn't going to be like this always. Once we got inside his school, it was mass chaos and he looked overwhelmed but again, I told him it wouldn't be like this always and he seemed ok.
Off to room 109...Mrs. Christian and Mrs. Shepherds class. He walked right in and over to his seat. He was hesitant to go ahead and sit down but once Mrs. Christian said to take their seats, he did so. I snapped a few pictures and then hugged him and reminded him I'd be back at 11:30 to pick him up (and that meant the little hand of clock on the 11 and the big hand on the 6). I left and he did ok ! I looked back from outside (cue my tears now) and he was just sitting there looking around, taking it all in. He looked so little!!!!! Sigh.....where did my baby go?

Oh Lindsey, if I had you at my school. Ha! You sound like some of my mothers that I have. That's okay, I would be the same way I am sure if I were a mom. Keep me posted on how things go. If you get any neat ideas, pass them my way. Debbie
