Making a splash

So we have a pool. You know, the kind you can swim in? But sometimes, you have a little guy who wants to get wet and you don't want to go in the pool (like when the pump/filter isn't running so the water is less than clean!). So then, its time for the baby pool. We picked this pool up about 4 years ago for about $4.00 on clearance. It has been used many times, and as you can see, we are STILL getting our $4.00 worth out of it!

Ready?

Get Set!

Jump!

Travis had just as much fun as Riley in the little pool!

An afternoon of fishing

Saturday, we spent most of the day at Jay's parents house. Travis wanted to go fishing, and Riley said HE wanted to go fishing too. (I don't think he really had any clue what fishing was at that point, but if Travis wants to do it, so does Riley!) Once we got there, it was all "noooo, let ME do it like a big boy". That is ALL we hear these days. Except when it comes to using the potty. He doesn't care to be a big boy about that yet.

A boy, and his dog, fishing.

He was determined. I'll give him that!

What?

Riley didn't care much for the actual fish.

Brothers

Mr 8 going on 30 takes his own fish off the line now.

I have no idea

And now, for your viewing pleasure, a little montage of videos, that you are sure to giggle at, at least once.

Needless to say, the boys had a blast fishing!

Easter Fun

Hunting for eggs that the Easter bunny left:

Let's make cupcakes!
Riley carefully lined the pans

Travis is SUPER serious about ingredients. (and notice: I have moved the mixer from its normal location on my other counter, the bar...because Travis tends to make a mess, and it's easier to clean up here. He's a sweet helper though, so it's worth it!)

We were making pinepple upside down cupcakes...which had a topping on the bottom...Which Riley thought was tasty. He knew it was tasty because he was dipping his thumb into a few of them as Travis and I worked on the cake part of the recipe.

Travis was super excited that Riley was given a small bat/ball. He couldn't wait to teach him how to hit. That quickly changed....

On another egg hunt for eggs that Mema and Grandaddy brought over.

Seems Riley found a better way to transport his basket

Jay hid the eggs...and he made Travis work for them!

It's finally flip-flop weather!

Riley was checking out his belly with a magnifying glass

A country girl and her two little country boys

See that smile? That is from knocking down a tree.

He put his hands on mine, and he thought HE was driving.
